The Akashic Records are a compendium of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intents ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future. This is a recurring concept, appearing in various cultures under different names.

Akasha harbours a massive sound and video archive captured on-site for ten years in different countries in Asia and Europe.

This archive is indexed by archetypes: mountain, woman, water, moon, etc...An algorithm runs through the video collection and creates juxtapositions, double exposures and interactions. Another algorithm digs in the field recording archive: religious chanting, sounds of the city, the silence of a forest, etc...These symbolic sounds elevate above an electronic mantra created from sounds of the four elements (earth, water, air, fire) that is always present.

When the observer approaches the installation, his presence causes the visualization on the screens to reveal the code that is making the piece work. Two algorithms, one connected to video and the other connected to sound, colide constantly against each other.

Thus, a poetic experience, ever-changing and of near-infinite signification is created.

Over the last years, different iterations of Akasha have been exhibited and its archive has been constantly expanded.
